Let's talk robotics with Scott Hansen
Joining me today is Scott Hansen who is the co-founder and head of engineering at Corematic Engineering. A world leader in certain aspects of engineering, he brings extensive experience in control systems and robotic welding systems predominantly relating to automation. Throughout his career, Scott has developed a number of industry-leading technologies for pedestrian detection, worker safety, and mobile asset-monitoring solutions for use in various industries. He has also been involved in multiple vision projects using specialist 3D imaging equipment which endowed him with a very unique set of development skills.
Scott's experience in cutting-edge vision technologies and smart control systems has enabled him to assist companies in developing intelligent area monitoring solutions aimed at creating safer workplaces for employees and members of the public. Also highly competent in working with J1939 and CANBUS communications, Scott has helped many businesses retrieve useful information from vehicles that maximises operational efficiency - the cornerstone of any fleet-based business.
Not only first in Australia but also in the world, Scott was able to manipulate time of flight vision technology for use in safety applications. The result of this development was both a cyclist and pedestrian warning system, as well as an asset collision avoidance system. His work was conducive to the first practical cases using this technology in the world of innovation. In addition to achieving all this before he even turned 30 Scott contributes as much of his AgTech energy as passion as possible to his home region of greater Bundaberg.
Dedicating his working and personal time to developing people and projects, Scott has been involved with not only agriculture but also in the medical, sugar, and recycling industries.
